Barbara SummersBarbara Summers

4th Grade Teacher

After raising five kids of my own, I decided I love teaching and that I could teach other people's children too.  I received my degree from Lewis Clark State College and started out teaching 3rd, then 1st grade, and then switched to 4th grade, which I love. Fourth graders seem to be my perfect age. This year will be my 20th year in the classroom. My greatest desire in teaching is to inspire a love of learning and reading in my students.  I sincerely desire to help each student to see their limitless potential and have a positive experience in school.

In the summer time, I have a part time  job working with the forest service which means I spend a lot of time out doors and love every minute I get to spend in the mountains.   I also enjoy hiking and exploring our national parks. I love reading, listening to podcasts, learning about history, and spending time with family and friends.
