Driver's Education

A student must be 14½ before they can begin taking Driver’s Education. The District will offer classes throughout the school year, and each class will last about 2½ to 3 months. Classroom time is 30 hours.

To sign up for Driver’s Education, please review the schedule below and go to the Madison Education Center; 60 West Main, to fill out the registration form.  Total cost is $100.00. 

A $50.00 non-refundable fee charged at the time of sign-up.  You will pay the remaining $50.00 before the class starts.

Documents needed to obtain a Permit at Madison County Sheriff's Office (208) 372-5003

  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Picture ID (Student Activity Card, Yearbook Picture)
  • Social Security Number
  • Verification of Compliance (VOC) - Obtain at the District Office
  • Parent will need to show an Idaho Drivers License or Idaho ID.  

Cost of the permit is $21.50.
