One of the things I love the most about teaching is getting to know the students in my class; their strengths, weaknesses, and fun personalities. I love that each day is an adventure. My favorite subject to teach is science, and my least favorite is grammar.

I grew up in Blackfoot, ID but have lived in Rexburg long enough to call it home. I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. My hobbies include traveling, reading, baking, eating ice cream, listening to Bon Jovi, and spending time with my two children.

I was born and raised in Boise. Go Broncos! I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I love spending time with my family, visiting Disneyland, and attending concerts.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher starting at a young age. My love for it continues to grow with every experience I am given. I am grateful that I am able to do what I am passionate about each day. I love that I get to spend my day with kind, funny, smart kids. I am an avid reader, so I enjoy the opportunities I have to expose students to the many adventures they can go on with books.

I graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and started teaching in the fall of 2002. I earned a Master of Education in Literacy in 2012. I thoroughly enjoy working with the amazing students, supportive parents, and dedicated staff here at Burton Elementary.

My goal as an educator is to empower students with the knowledge and tools necessary to become life-long learners. I am passionate about learning, and it is fun to see students become interested and excited about what they are learning as well. I love seeing students feel successful as they experience the rewards of their hard work.

Aside from teaching, I love reading, and I’m always on the hunt for good books to share with my students. Some of my other hobbies include playing the piano, crafting, researching and reading about history, traveling, and spending time with family. I love living in the Upper Snake River Valley, and I appreciate our beautiful surroundings every day.
