I attended Brigham Young University--Provo and majored in Elementary Education. I took a break and had 4 children and then returned to Brigham Young University—Idaho to finish my degree.
The earliest memories I have are of me playing house and school with my siblings. I knew very early on I wanted to be a teacher. I also developed a growing desire to work with children who had special needs when volunteering at my children’s schools. After teaching kindergarten we added our fifth and last child. During my break from teaching while caring for my new baby, I decided to return to school to obtain a masters in Speech and Language Pathology at Idaho State University so I could better help and advocate for my youngest child’s special needs.
I love both teaching and providing speech and language services. I feel so fortunate to have this opportunity and look forward to working with children every day. When not working with children I enjoy researching teaching ideas, reading, skiing, hiking, rafting, and let’s be honest—long naps!
