I graduated from Ricks College with an associates degree and then transferred to Utah State University where I earned a bachelors degree in Communication Disorders and a masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology.  Throughout my years in college, I always knew that I wanted to work with preschool children.  After working as a speech/language pathologist in the Madison School District preschool program for several years, I found that I loved teaching as well.  I returned to college at BYU-I in 2005 and earned my Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education certification.  I am passionate about early childhood education, and I believe that young children learn best through engaging, hands-on play based activities.

I have 4 sons and 2 grandchildren and I enjoy gardening, walking, hiking and backpacking with my husband and sons, reading, and eating really good Mexican food.

I went back to school in my later years and decided on the major Early Childhood Special Education. It was not hard for me to choose the major that I did. I have an understanding with children who have a learning disability and other types of disabilities. I want to make a difference in a child's life. I want to give these children and their families hope, excitement, and understanding that it is okay to struggle, but when you learn you will never forget it. It is the neatest feeling to watch a child that struggles with a concept light up with excitement and wonder once they finally understand. To see that, is overwhelming. I want to be the teacher that can provide the strategies and tools to help them be successful, not only for children with disabilities, but for all children. I am so excited to teach and I am ready to have a great school year with your children.

I am married and I have 4 children, whom I love dearly! I love to be outside, go camping, garden, and do anything I can with my family.

I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Special Education. Since volunteering in community-wide special education programs in high schoolI knew that I wanted to teach special education.  I fell in love with serving others and working hard to find solutions that would help individuals and families reach their goals. I love working with young children and believe that early intervention is so important. I want to make a difference in the lives of my students by helping them learn life skills and how to be life-long learners.

I love cooking, reading, painting, traveling and being with my family!
